Mutant Jazz Event To Be The Official After Party For The Liverpool International Jazz Festival

Mutant Jazz is a collaboration between promoters Parrjazz and You & I Present at Metrocola’s Metro Loft, on Leece Street, Liverpool. They have teamed up with the Liverpool Internationa Jazz Festival to offer a late-night extension to Friday 23 February’s jazz activities.

The idea is to bring new artists who are part of the Northwest jazz spectrum and present them as key players in our rapidly mutating jazz scene, hosted and herded by the lovely MC Motormouf.

The first Mutant Jazz event in September 2023 sold out and is still being talked about. The closing hop-hop jam took the event into the small hours. The second Mutant Jazz event in December introduced our first guests from Manchester and established our manifesto for 2024.

Mutant Jazz #3 is scheduled for Friday 23 February, upstairs at Metrocola’s Metro Loft, Leece Street Liverpool L1 2TR. Bands include: Liverpool’s anarchic Beefheart funksters Bonk! (with a big announcement to make), groove masters Bop Kaballa and rising soulful vocal star Lydia Reece. Manchester’s own sonic Chinashop spectacle Ask My Bull will turn energy dial to eleven with MC Motormouf hosting the event and coordinating a live jam to conclude the evening.

Liverpool International Jazz Festival Pass holders will receive complimentary admission. The doors are at 8pm and the first artist will start at 8:30. Tickets for non-LIJF pass holders are on Skiddle.
