Montao Delivers A Dose Of Sundrenched Trip-Hop With New Single ‘Costa Del Mersey’

We may have had a lot of rain this summer but the latest Montao track, Costa Del Mersey, is still giving us sunny vibes. This colourful yet chilled-out homage to the artist’s beautiful hometown kicks off a series of single releases throughout the remainder of the year, ending with a mini-album launch in 2024 under the deft guidance of Def Pressé Records.

Costa Del Mersey would not sound out of place blaring from a boombox on the Costa del Sol or some beach in California, nor would it as you cruise down the Otterspool Promenade under the hot Merseyside sun or kick back in Sefton Park with a cold bevvy and a disposable barbie on the go.

In fact, the laid-back groove that reflects the city’s cool and calm attitude in the summer months allows you to effortlessly picture the sunny scene down by the Mersey that Montao is trying to create. The trip-hop and low-fi inspired artist seamlessly switches up the sound to keep things interesting whilst Costa Del Mersey‘s psychedelic tones are reminiscent of Liverpool’s musical past.

The experienced multi instrumentalist with a long and rich history in the music industry does not mess about, with a lot more music to come and collaborations with some top artists such as American rapper Slug from the hip-hop group Atmosphere, as well as artists Copywrite, Koncept, RoQy TyRaid, and Lane Shuler.

Encapsulated amidst the terrain of a curious and sometimes confusing world, Montao is putting things right…one beat at a time. Stay tuned for more summer sounding lo-fi grooves.
