Mellowtone Records have re-issued Ragz Nordset’s Little Stings EP. Originally released in early 2008, the EP is now available for streaming.
Nordset’s chilling, emotive and dark sound is steeped in the mystery and folklore of her native Norway. Weaving intricate piano and guitar, poetic lyricism, and her unique, emotive vocal – the result was this beautiful collection of songs: ‘Little Stings’.
The EP was recorded in 2006 at Liverpool’s iconic Parr Street Studios, and was released to coincide with her inaugural nationwide UK tour, back in January 2008. The original run of CDs sold out many years ago, and from today (26th March 2021) ‘Little Stings’ will finally be available via streaming platforms.
2020 saw the first recorded music the Norwegian chanteuse had shared in almost five years, with ’Don’t You Forget’ – a haunting and sparse piano and vocal track. Following its much celebrated release, the time was right to bring Little Stings and its captivating collection of songs to the digital realm.
At times unconventional, yet rooted in the traditions of classic song-writing – Ragz has always been able to share something we’ve all felt. Revisiting ‘Little Stings’ reminds us of exactly that.
