LIMF Academy To Host Unforgettable Musical Experience At Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
Liverpool International Music Festival Academy has partnered with Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Session Orchestra to create an unforgettable musical experience in the iconic Liverpool Philharmonic Hall this February, putting the city’s finest young musical talent on one of the country’s most illustrious stages.
Taking place on Saturday 3 February, this annual collaboration brings together musicians from Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company with the best of LIMF Academy artists. Guests can expect to hear an extraordinary blend of musical flair from a lineup featuring:
DAYZY: Approaching his music with open eyes and a charming wit, Dayzy is a rapper here to “build a bridge to the Liverpool rap scene.”
Hannah Morgan: Blending pop, R&B and an adventurous style, Hannah Morgan’s music explores “suburban imperfection”.
Superlate: Exuding positivity and good vibrations, Superlate hits listeners with beachside melodies and spirited, electronic dancefloor fillers that personify summer.
Koj: With a unique fusion between the rawness of grime culture and the creativity and eclecticism of UK Rap, KOJ delivers authentic and personable lyrics full of character that resonates with many in an organic way that only a few can do.
LIMF Academy is an award-winning initiative that nurtures and develops emerging Liverpool City Region based musicians aged between 16-25. The Academy offers those that are selected for the programme a bundle of talent development programmes, tailor-made masterclasses, music creation sessions, one to one mentoring and coaching, networking events and cash investment. As well as this, the Academy offer paid membership to PRS For Music and the Musician’s Union.
Each year, three of the artists that have shown the most potential from the cohort will be chosen to receive advanced support. These young musicians will receive additional funding, creation of professional press assets, recording time, additional mentoring and life coaching, one to one time with industry and a BBC Introducing Live Session. As well as this, the chosen artists will be put forward for a number of unique performance opportunities and collaborations.
Creative Consultant and the Academy Programme Director Yaw Owusu said: “Having our Academy artists collaborate with the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Session Orchestra is always a fruitful experience for all involved and results in a wonderful show. The 2024 edition will be no different. I am very pleased that in our 10th year we can do such a showcase, which exemplifies the high quality and musical diversity the Academy champions.”
