Leonie Jakobi Releases Enthralling EP ‘Nothing More To Say’

German born pop-rock powerhouse Leonie Jakobi has been blazing her trail in Liverpool since releasing her debut single in 2020 and she’s ready to embed her name as one to watch with new EP Nothing More To Say.

Fans of old school favourites Suzi Quatro and Janis Joplin won’t be disappointed with the anthemic, gritty vocals and grungy guitars that feature throughout. Although, fresh names on the scene such as Larkin Poe and Dorothy were also sources of inspiration for the six track EP, says Leonie.

Opener Bedroom Eyes introduces us to the first of many choruses with rhythm sections brimming with energy followed by the equally lively Nothing More to Say.

In an unexpected change of pace, highlight Run Towards The Edge presents a soft ballad with a satisfyingly sway-worthy chorus. Jakobi’s punky undertones are still audible in the 00s aesthetic embedded in the electric guitars, but her versatility as a performer and writer are worth noting in this number and its melodically nostalgic chorus.

This softer approach continues into Look Down On Me with tranquil, lingering guitars layered with tremolo. Less distortion on the vocals and more sonic space allows Leonie to explore a sweeter pop-esque territory in her higher range for this airy track.

Walk To West Berlin is brimming with detailed production from producer Alic Brits who worked on the EP with Leonie at the Cabin studio, Liverpool. Culminating in a cinematic blend of soundscape effects and what sounds like a ‘Nashville’ or ‘high-tuned’ guitar, embedded under uncharacteristically raw vocals in a distinctively haunting outro.

Nothing More To Say is an enthralling listening experience. The result of personal expression carefully crafted by both the artist and producer making it stand out from others of its kind.

Nothing More To Say is available to stream on all platforms now.
