Celebrate Christmas With These Unmissable Events At St George’s Hall

As the festive season kicks off, the iconic St George’s Hall transforms into a winter wonderland, offering a variety of events that capture the magic and spirit of Christmas. From the Christmas market to festive performances, check what’s happening at St George’s Hall this Christmas.

Liverpool Christmas Market

The Liverpool Christmas market has returned for another year of festive fun, with traditional culinary delights, crafts and wintery fairground rides. The market is open daily from November 18th to December 24th, with extended hours from 11am to 10pm every day except Christmas Eve, when it will close at 5pm.

Celebrating Christmas With Strawberry Field (26 November, 4-6pm)

Raising funds together for families and young people across Liverpool, the Salvation Army’s Strawberry Field collaborates with St George’s Hall Charitable Trust to bring their ever popular Celebrating Christmas event to the iconic Great Hall of St George’s Hall. 

Their festive carol concert will feature music from the Liverpool Walton Band of The Salvation Army. It will also include music from singer, Asa Murphy and Charlie Green (who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2008), while the evening will be compered by BBC Radio Merseyside’s, Paul Beesley. Classical Christmas (5 December, 6.30pm)

Join St George’s Hall for a magical evening of classical Christmas music. Soak up the festive atmosphere as they bring together two of the city’s most celebrated musical talents: Danielle Thomas, a classically trained singer and renowned organist, and Chorus Master Professor Ian Tracey playing the hall’s famous Willis Organ. These talented artists along with a Liverpool based choir will lend their harmonious voices to the repertoire, creating an atmosphere of pure Christmas magic. Christmas Ceilidh (8 December, 7-11pm)

Christmas. 1823. Mr Fezzywig’s annual Christmas Ceilidhs have become legendary in the city of Liverpool and this year is no exception. Business is booming and Mr Fezzywig has hired one of the best Ceilidh bands around.

Christmas Crooners: A Tribute Night (9 December, 7.30-11.30pm)

St George’s Hall has curated an extraordinary line-up of tribute acts that are sure to dazzle and delight for this Christmas Crooners night. The talented performers have honed their craft to pay homage to some of the greatest musical legends of all time.

With impeccable attention to detail, each act captures the essence and magic of the original artists. From the infectious harmonies of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, masterfully recreated by ‘Big Men In Town,’ to the smooth crooning of Michael Buble expertly channelled by Callum Park-Ward. A Christmas Carol (15, 16 & 18 December)

Performed by Charles Dickens’ great-great-grandson, Gerald Charles Dickens, this production of the classic tale is not to be missed! No other show in the country has a direct descendant of Charles Dickens taking the lead role. The stunning Concert Hall is the setting for this fabulous show, with its ornate golden pillars and enormous glistening chandelier, you feel like you have been transported back in time with Mr Dickens. The Snow Queen: An Enchanted Christmas Experience (16 December (From 9.30am)

St George’s Hall is being transformed into a festive theatrical venue of dreams as the children’s favourite The Snow Queen is brought to life. Visitors will be taken on a journey through the Forgotten Forest, across a frozen lake and all the way to the Ice Palace, where they will be invited to help the famous characters Gerda and Bae the Reindeer to find Kai and at the same time restore his memories and defeat the evil Snow Queen. 

Along the 45-minute magical trip, visitors will be swept up in a live theatre adventure – and even invited to take part themselves! Find out more and book your tickets.
