There’s A Massive Six Day Winter Festival Coming To Camp & Furnace – With Guaranteed Snow!

Leading city venue Camp and Furnace have announced their plans for a giant indoor winter festival today and they promise snow every day of the event – even when it’s not forecast!

Launching on Monday 18th December and running for six days until Saturday 23rd December, Snö Garden is a seasonal spin on the venue’s popular Nightgarden event, which combines music, drinks and live music.

Billed as an event for the whole family, Snö Garden is open early every day from 4.30pm, so younger festival-goers can join in the fun, as well as being a stop off for shoppers, after a day around the stores.

Taking place in the venue’s Furnace room, which will be specially decorated with snow drifts, snowflakes, projections and a giant Christmas tree, each day kicks off with a much-loved Christmas movie being shown on a giant screen.

The festival’s film programme includes Home Alone, The Muppets Christmas Carol, Elf, and Miracle on 34th Street. There’s also a Pop-Up Sweet Shop which will be selling traditional favourites like Candy Canes and Flavoured Popcorn to munch during the movies, along with bags of edible snow!

Camp and Furnace’s house band will perform live, with a whole variety of festive tunes to get you in the mood, or if you fancy getting on stage yourself, there’s Xmasoke – where you can join the band and sing along to your favourite Xmas song.

For those that don’t fancy fifteen minutes of fame, then pop on a pair of headphones, close your eyes and belt out Christmas Classics in the Snö Garden Silent Disco – it’s even better with friends!

If you’re feeling peckish, festival-goers can enjoy delicious twists on festive classics from food traders who’ll be serving up a selection of mouthwatering menus, and of course a trip to the Cocktail and Gin Bars is a must, where bespoke drinks menus have been created and include The Fig Fashioned with Fig infused Whiskey, Maple syrup, black Walnut and Bitters and The Salted Caramel Pecan Sour with Clementine juice and Chocolate Bitters.

Winter isn’t winter without a warming mug of mulled wine, and the Mulling Station will also be offering cider and whiskey versions, plus there’s also boozy Hot Chocolate available for the adults!

As Snö Garden heads into the evening, pay a visit to Bad Santa – the city’s first adults only Grotto. Sit on Santa’s knee to find out how good or bad you’ve been this year, (and whether you’ll be punished or rewarded!) before calling in to the Glittervan, for face painting and some Wintery sparkle, before dancing to the Snö Garden DJs until 3am.

Speaking about the launch, a Camp and Furnace spokesperson commented:

“We’ve always been known for our Winter events at Camp and Furnace, they suit the venue perfectly and Snö Garden will be our biggest seasonal party so far.

There’s a whole host of activities for all the family as well as some of the region’s best food and drink traders, however we anticipate that Bad Santa may have his work cut out!

We’re also looking forward to making it snow every day – it’s under wraps how we’ll do it, but it’s going to be magical and of course it’s all taking place indoors so you can stay toasty warm, even when the temperature plummets!”

Snö Garden launches on Monday 18th December and is open every day until Saturday 23rd December from 4.30pm – late.

Entrance is Free, with children and dogs more than welcome at Snö Garden but please note that under 18s are not permitted in the venue after 9.00pm.
