Sister Ray Launches Its First-Ever Food Menu Alongside New Autumn Cocktails
Liverpool cocktail bar Sister Ray has launched its first-ever dining menu, bringing a new food offering to its Wolstenholme Square home alongside a fresh selection of cocktails for autumn.
Tucked away just off Wolstenholme Square, Sister Ray has established itself as an intimate spot for drinks, music and late-night catch-ups. Inspired by European café culture and the bars of New York’s Lower East Side, the venue pairs classic cocktails with a carefully curated soundtrack of genre-spanning vinyl played through its custom GNK audio system.
Now, for the first time, food is becoming a major part of the Sister Ray experience, with a new kitchen service running Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm until 10pm.
The debut menu focuses on classic, approachable dishes designed for sharing, given a distinctive Sister Ray twist. Highlights include Lindisfarne oysters with mignonette, Comté and honey beignets, tuna tartare, grilled Merguez sausage and squash fritti, alongside fried chicken with green peppercorn sauce.
For something more substantial, there’s a House Burger topped with Lyonnaise onions and Comté, as well as an 8oz bavette steak served with bone marrow sauce. Desserts include chocolate mousse and an affogato with Pedro Ximénez.
Those wanting to make a proper occasion of it can order the entire menu for £95, designed to feed three to four people. Tuesdays will also see the launch of Sister Ray’s Burger Night, offering the House Burger, fries and a glass of Crémant for £19.
The food arrives alongside Sister Ray’s new autumn cocktail menu, with new creations including Blondie, Frozen Grasshopper, Platano and Pocket Money.

There have also been a few changes inside the venue, with new bar seating and a standing area giving guests more space to congregate. These additions join the recently installed sound system and curtains, designed to further enhance the bar’s intimate atmosphere as it moves from laid-back afternoons into late-night drinking.
Sister Ray founder Chris Edwards said: “The vision with Sister Ray was always to have a kitchen offering to match our drinks philosophy. Simple, classic serves, executed perfectly with the best ingredients available to us.
“We’re now in the position to bring this into fruition and launch our new kitchen service running every Tuesday to Saturday. This is all about great flavours and approachable dishes to share, discovering the kind of classical small plates you’d find in Paris, Amsterdam and New York in their bistros, cafés and bars.
“We’ve taken our time to find the right team to run the kitchen and develop the menu, and now there’s fantastic food aligned with our latest drinks menu.”
Sister Ray’s new food and cocktail menus are available now. The bar is open seven days a week at Unit 2, Block D, Wolstenholme Square, Liverpool, L1 4JJ, with food served Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm–10pm.
