Christmas Story Trail Is Back At Calderstones Park

The team behind the magical play space The Storybarn, in the heart of Calderstones Park invite families to explore the children’s book A Message for Santa, written by Hiawyn Oram and illustrated by Tony Ross (The Little PrincessHorrid Henry and many more).

Running every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 25 November – 23 December with time slots beginning at 10am, the self-led trail lasts approximately 90 minutes and offers activities inspired by the book for children to complete throughout the park.

A family ticket costs £12.99 and includes a map and pencil for each child, and a copy of A Message for Santa for each family to take home and keep.

The book tells the story of Emily who loves all things Christmas except Santa! While Emily wants to block up the chimney to stop Santa getting in, her mum inspires her to write Santa a note, telling him to come in through the back door, and go no further than the kitchen table!
Will Santa redeem himself in Emily’s eyes?

The Reader charity, which uses the power of literature and reading aloud to transform lives across the UK, is also calling for donations to help it reach a £10,000 festive fundraising target that will support the First Page project, its work reading with children and their families across the Liverpool City Region.
