1. Cowshed

Cowshed on Seel Street is housed in a charming Georgian townhouse and offers a focused, culinary-first approach to steak—self-branded as a “beefhouse.” With indulgent staples like the Greedy Cow platter, a sleek selection of sauces, and shareable sides, it’s an ideal out-and-out meat lover’s haven—yet still offers options for non-meat eaters. The personable Scouse hospitality, stylish yet cozy décor (owls of cow-themed art included!), and glowing local and critic reviews (4.8/5 on major platforms) make it a standout. Perfect for date nights, celebrations, or a no-fuss treat.

7. Down The Hatch

One of the city’s most popular vegan and veggie restaurants, Down The Hatch specialise in vegan junk food. As a meat eater this is one of the first places we tried when going for a meat free option and we haven’t looked back since. Serving up incredible small plates (jackfruit nuggets, cauliflower wings), stacked burgers, seitan ‘wings’ and much more. Down The Hatch is simply epic.

8. The Quarter

The Quarter can be found on Faulkner Street, in the heart of the beautiful Georgian Quarter. This Italian inspired restaurant manages to create a laid back, yet bustling atmosphere. Pizza and pasta dishes are it’s focal point as you’d expect from any good Italian, but there’s plenty on the menu to keep everyone happy. We’ve always found The Quarter to be a great dining spot for birthdays and other celebrations with it’s warm and inviting vibe and we’ve spent many a sunny afternoon sat outside enjoying pizza on their cobbled terrace.

What do you think of our best restaurants in Liverpool top 10? Let us know in the comments below.
What ever happened to Nolita Cantina? I used to love that place. Best burgers in Liverpool, and with Samual Adams on draught, what was not to love? They seemed to close down pretty quickly amidst all this Covid panic lockdown. Of course it wasnt just their burgers that were second to none, it was the gravy. A thick n peppery puddle of beef, served in a small white metal dish just right for dipping chips in three at a time. The Burnt Ends also deserve a special mention. Moist tender and slow cooked.
LOVE Nolita Cantina and it’s one of our favourite places but it just didn’t quite make our top 10!
