Why Coastal Holidays Are A Must

You can’t beat being by the sea on vacation, but you do not always have to go abroad to enjoy this as the UK has many superb and very beautiful coastal holiday destinations. These places have a lot to offer whether you want to relax on a nice beach, splash in the water or hike in the surrounding areas. Keep reading to find out why coastal holidays are a must for families.

Coastal Parks for the Summer

The coast is the ideal place for a family holiday as there is something for everyone. For some people, they will want to soak up the sun on the beach with a good book while the kids are likely going to want to try their hand at water sports. You can enjoy long coastal walks as a family and enjoy classic seaside entertainment like fish and chips, pier walks or even donkey rides in many places.

You are spoilt for choice when it comes to coastal parks in the UK. Porthcurno Beach in Cornwall is an idyllic small beach that has a soft sandy beach, turquoise waters and is surrounded by natural beauty. Summerleaze is another good choice in Cornwall and one of Bude’s most popular spots. It is a popular family beach with long stretches of sand, beach huts available for hire and plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby.

Woolacombe Sands in Devon is the place to be if you are looking for sandy beaches with miles of uninterrupted sand to make the most out of. It is also a popular spot with surfers but there is also plenty to keep little kids entertained, including rock pools to explore. Durdle Door (also in Devon) is a stunning archway perfectly framing the water beyond and is said to be the most beautiful corner of the South West Coast Path.

Travelling in Summer

Obviously, summer is the best time to go for a coastal holiday as you should (hopefully) be able to enjoy good weather and can soak up the sun. Of course, it will always be busier during the school holidays and you may want to book in advance.

Travelling in Winter

As an alternative, winter can actually be a lovely time of year for a coastal holiday and much quieter. You can enjoy cozy evenings in your coastal holiday accommodations in Cornwall, walks along the coast and make the most out of the pubs, restaurants and cafes in the area as well as any local activities happening.

Coastal holidays in the UK are perfect for the family this post should hopefully give you inspiration for your next trip.
