Royal Albert Dock Celebrates The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee With The Royal Weekender

Liverpool’s iconic Royal Albert Dock is celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with The Royal Weekender, inviting visitors to soak up the sounds of the dock with performances across three sound stages from the best local talent, making it a right royal medley of music, food and drink.

Taking place on the 4 & 5 June, The Royal Weekender will see the dock’s quayside spring to life, with its historic Colonnades adorned with Jubilee style flags creating a stunning backdrop, and performances from fourteen of Liverpool’s finest emerging musicians, creating an atmospheric dining and shopping destination like no other.

The three sound stations will be located in-front of the Martin Luther King Jr. Building, in Mermaid Courtyard next to the eye-catching Liverpool Mountain, and, bringing an added element of fun to the celebrations, on the Brocklebank boat which will be moored on the inner quayside of Merseyside Maritime Museum.

Curated by EVOL, the variety of acoustic bands and musicians include hugely popular headlining act, The Sundowners, who have supported The Coral and Kasabian in the past and made waves on the festival circuit including playing at Glastonbury. They’ll be joined by The Heavy North, Seafoam Green and Ali Horn to name a few, with the free to watch performances taking place from 12-4pm across the weekend.
