Ellie-Rose Mcloughlin,13, a Formby High School pupil, is the winner of Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa‘s design-a-Christmas card competition.
All proceeds from Ellie-Rose’s cards will raise money for Cash for Kids Liverpool.
Ellie-Rose drew a picture of a little girl wearing a hand-knitted Christmas jumper from her grandma. She is witnessing the magic of Christmas from her living room, with Father Christmas’ sleigh and his classic reindeer. Ellie-Rose’s drawing also features golfing snowmen!
Ellie-Rose says, “I love Christmas and wanted to show a really festive scene. You can see the snowmen come to life on the golf course at Formby Hall, they are laughing at the one on the left for missing a birdie! I am so happy and proud to be the winner and it’s really exciting that people will be able to send Christmas cards with my drawing on them, and raise money for charity too.”
Ellie-Rose’s winning drawing has been created into Christmas cards with her name and school printed on them, and she has won an after-school golf party at Formby Hall’s Toptracer driving range complete with instructors, golf games and pizzas for her entire class.
Amanda Brady, Commercial Director at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa said, “A big congratulations to Ellie-Rose for her interpretation of the magic of Christmas. We love the story behind it with the little girl watching out of the window for Father Christmas – this is definitely something we have all done and we think it’s so magical. We love the snowmen playing golf too, which really brings our resort into the drawing. This is the first time we have run this competition, and we will definitely be making it an annual event.”
Ellie Rose’s card is available to buy for £1 with all proceeds going to Formby Hall’s charity partner, Cash for Kids Liverpool. Cards are available to buy on reception at Formby Hall.
