Brazilica Festival 2016

The annual Brazilica parade has again brought colour and a flavour of Latin America to the streets of Liverpool.

The parade forms part of a weekend of events in the city centre and draws large crowds of people wanting to sample the joyous carnival atmosphere. Drum bands and dancers from all over the world came together with national groups to provide some of the best free entertainment Liverpool has to offer. Even Rio itself was represented.

The weather looked kindly on the parade with clear skies and summer warmth to help set the scene. The standard was as high as ever and the crowd loved every minute of it from the interesting ‘Devils’ to the exuberant feathered costumes of both male and female dancers and musicians.

So many different ages and nationalities were found among the performers that this was truly a show of unity and friendship, a parade for everyone to enjoy.
