It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas At Metquarter

Whether you’re looking for the perfect unique Christmas gift, wanting to enjoy some festive food and drink, or to get involved in some winter-warmer activities, Metquarter is rolling out a festive extravaganza with something for everyone, throughout November and December.

A staple within Liverpool’s retail history, a trip to Metquarter promises art, fashion, street food and entertainment, with a sprinkle of Christmas wrapped in every visit this winter period.

For every item on the festive itinerary, Metquarter has got you sorted this Christmas…

The Art Quarter Winter Market

After the huge success last year, The Art Quarter Liverpool Market is back for Winter 2023 at Metquarter, supporting small business and local makers.

Over fifty talented artists, designers and makers will pack out the centre, offering incredible locally made gift and products including jewellery, ceramics, glassware, illustration, candles and much more.

Taking place on Saturday 2 December, which is also recognised as ‘Small Business Saturday’ between 11am-5pm, the Art Quarter Winter Market will host stalls from original makers, artisans, and crafters and is the perfect event to purchase unique and personal gifts this Christmas.

The Hope Foundation

Metquarter’s official charity partner The Hope Foundation will also run a stall at the Art Quarter Winter Markets, offering a gift-wrapping service and helping shoppers to put the finishing touches to their purchases. There will be an option for shoppers to donate to the charity in return for the service. The team will also sell a bespoke Hope Foundation Travel Mug on the day, designed by Art Quarter’s Karen Edwards. All funds raised for the charity on the day will be matched by Aviva.

The centre has also teamed up with the foundation again this year to support its annual Christmas meal. Donations of toys, toiletries and other Christmas gifts are welcomed and can be dropped off at The Art Quarter store or to any member of Metquarter staff between now and Christmas.

Open Culture Workshops

The Open Culture Workshops are contemporary Christmas Craft Workshops with sustainability at their heart. A series of ‘make and take’ Christmas craft workshops will take place in the centre and GPO over the festive season.

The workshops kick off on Saturday 25 November, with a Laser Cut Christmas Decorations Workshop and continue throughout December. Other activities include Wreath Making, Christmas Table Centre Decorations, Scented Candle and Melt Making, Vintage Fabric Lantern Fairy Lights and creating Hand Printed Table Runners and Napkins.

The events will take place on the upper level of Metquarter outside GPO, where children attending will be able to eat for free, other events taking place include ‘Grinchmas’ with Cindy Lou and the Grinch as well as ‘Merry Stitchmas’ with Lilo and Stitch.
