Lumiere Charity Founder Gets ‘Locked Up’ for 48-Hour Haunted Jail Fundraiser
Linda Clarke, co-founder of Liverpool’s Lumiere Charity, is about to face her most spine-chilling challenge yet — a 48-hour lock-in at the notoriously haunted Shrewsbury Prison.
On 21 July, Linda will be confined inside the eerie 200-year-old jail, once home to public executions and now known as one of the most haunted places in the UK. The event, dubbed the Lumi Lock-In, will be live-streamed across social media, giving supporters the chance to watch chilling ghost hunts, surprise challenges, and paranormal encounters — all in the name of charity.
Lumiere, founded in early 2024 by sisters Linda and Melissa Clarke, was inspired by the family’s personal journey raising a child with a rare genetic condition. The charity now supports children and young adults with disabilities across the North West through its unique, inclusive play centre and ongoing community work.
No stranger to big fundraisers, Linda previously walked from Liverpool to London, gaining national attention and raising vital funds. With the Lumi Lock-In, she’s aiming to match — or even beat — that effort.
