Free Christmas Parking and Travel Tickets in Liverpool: 2,000 Available for Festive Shoppers
Christmas shoppers in Liverpool will be able to book free travel and parking tickets this festive season, with 2,000 tickets available across the four Sundays before Christmas 2026.
Organised and funded by Liverpool Business Improvement District (BID), the Get In! campaign aims to make trips into the city centre more affordable while supporting local shops, restaurants and hospitality businesses.
There will be 500 free travel and parking tickets available for each participating Sunday, alongside rail, bus and ferry offers to help visitors make the most of Liverpool during the festive season.
When Are Liverpool’s Free Christmas Parking and Travel Tickets Available?
Tickets will be available to book from 10am on Friday 20 November through the Liverpool BID Company website, covering the following dates:
- Sunday 29 November
- Sunday 6 December
- Sunday 13 December
- Sunday 20 December
Shoppers can sign up through Liverpool BID Company’s Christmas in Liverpool page to be among the first to access the tickets.
Making Christmas Trips Into Liverpool More Affordable
Liverpool BID has teamed up with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Merseyrail, Stagecoach, Liverpool City Council, St Johns Shopping Centre and city centre car parks to deliver the initiative.
The campaign encourages car sharing, public transport and active travel, with free and discounted options designed to ease the cost of visiting the city centre.
Bill Addy, CEO of Liverpool BID, said: “We represent over 865 businesses across Liverpool city centre and we know how important Christmas is. It’s the biggest time of the year for high streets and hospitality, and after a tough few years a lot of our smaller businesses are really relying on that crucial Q4 period. Yet we know a lot of households are facing the pressure of cost-of-living. Get In! is designed to make that squeeze a little easier.”
He added: “Our great partners at Liverpool City Region, Merseyrail and Stagecoach are also supporting offers on public transport, to make it as easy as possible to make the most of the festive season and get into town”.
Liverpool City Centre Christmas Lights Switch-On
Liverpool city centre’s Christmas lights will be switched on on Thursday 12 November, bringing some festive sparkle ahead of the shopping season.
Liverpool BID funds more than 85% of the city centre’s Christmas lights, with businesses investing over £1.2 million in festive lighting across the city centre over the past five years.
