Liverpool Music Week 2016 Add Dinosaur JR, Louis Berry & Announce DIY Breaking Out Series

Liverpool Music Week recently announced the second round of acts for their 2016 line up set to take place across various venues in Liverpool from 26th October – 4th November 2016, including new headline shows from Dinosaur JR and Louis Berry.

Amherst, Massachusetts alt-rock legends Dinosaur Jr. recently released their first new album in four years, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, via Jagjaguwar. Headlining Arts Club Theatre on 27th October you can expect unrelenting, instrumental-leaning freak-outs and guitar solos galore from front man J Mascis and the rest of the band, playing a mix of old and new material.

Local lad and Kirkby rising star Louis Berry will headline Leaf on 31st Octoberfollowing his recent signing to Household Records, where he’ll be showcasing his stripped back and classic song-writing á la Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Sam Cooke. A very lonely rebel with a very revolutionary mind, Berry is one to watch.

Elsewhere on the line up, the extremely popular DIY Breaking Out series returns to the festival for a second year to showcase the best in breaking music in another run of shows across the week at the festival hub of Arts Club on Seel Street – tickets for each of these shows will cost just £4.

The festival have also revealed that the notorious LMW16 Closing Party is set to take place on 4th November at various venues across the newly revitalised North Liverpool Docklands and will feature a huge line up of some of the best in local and national talent. Further details will be revealed soon, early bird tickets priced at £6 are on sale now here.

Further additions to the bill and details of the shows will be revealed over the coming weeks. The new names join the already announced legendary director and composer John Carpenter (The Master of Horror), Warpaint, Cat’s Eyes, GoGo Penguin, Clean Cut Kid and She Drew The Gun.

This year sees the launch of a limited number of LMW16 Wristbands that allow entry to all of this year’s shows (excluding the DIY Breaking Out series) for just £50, on sale now here.
