YMCA Together Named Best Charity To Work For In The UK For The Third Time

YMCA Together has been named the Best Charity to work for in the UK for the third consecutive time at Best Companies Q3 Live.

Providing 109,500 beds annually for those experiencing challenging times right across the region, the charity was commended for its continued ‘world class’ levels of workplace engagement at the quarterly awards, which were hosted at Media City in Salford by Channel 5’s newsreader Dan Walker.

The 176-year-old charity also secured 5th place in the category for Best Mid-Sized Company to Work For in the North West and 18th in the Best Mid-Sized Companies to Work For in the UK.

Chief Executive of YMCA Together Ellie McNeil said: “YMCA Together is such a special place to work and I’m so proud that we have been awarded the title of Best Charity to work for in the UK for a third time. It is a true testament to the entire team who very much deserve this recognition.

“When we work together, we do amazing things and that is shown in the way we support people in Merseyside with issues such as homelessness, addiction and recovery, domestic abuse, childcare provisions and more. This award is for our teams who work hard, show strength, humility, respect, empathy and kindness to everyone that we come into contact with, every single day.”

The Best Companies Live event attracts companies from all over the UK and features a full virtual programme of discussions on topics including Workplace Culture, Employer Brands, Remote Management and Industry Trends.

The awards are determined by using a scoring system alongside a thorough survey of staff at all levels, as well as rigorous analysis.

Ellie added: “If the past few years have taught us anything it’s that we must be here more than ever for the communities that need us most. To do that, we are committed to ensuring that our team are skilled and equipped to deliver the best quality of life-changing services. We are continuously reviewing our training and offering support to our team to enable us to create an environment, which allows everyone at YMCA Together to feel part of a family and in turn, provide better care to our service users.”
