World’s First Mince Pie Vending Machine Is Coming To Liverpool For One Day Only
A mince pie vending machine, giving out free mince pies is coming to Liverpool on Thursday 5 December.
The world’s first mince pie vending machine, filled to the brim with the Christmas treats, has been installed to celebrate Iceland Foods’ mince pies becoming the first and only to be given Santa’s official seal of approval.
The supermarket will reveal the mince pie vending machine outside its Liverpool store located on 3/4 Williamson Square, Liverpool L1 1EQ and is set to give out free mince pies from 10am.
According to Iceland’s sales data, Liverpool is the mince pie capital of the UK, devouring more of the festive treats than anyone else. However, Liverpudlians will have to be quick, as the vending machine is operating for one day only.
In a video revealed by the frozen retailer, a selection of Santa’s most trusted helpers deliberated over hundreds of mince pies, before delivering their verdict. It means that Iceland’s mince pies are the only ones to be ‘approved by Santa’ this year.
As well as traditional mince pies, the special vending machine will be dispensing alternative options, such as cheesy Cathedral City Mince Pies, Caramel Crumble Mince Pies, and Chocolate Caramel Crumble Mince Pies.
On the day, Iceland will add to the festive excitement by giving shoppers the chance to win their whole Christmas shop for free to the value of £250. And not only that, but shoppers will also have the chance to win mystery £10 shopping vouchers alongside their mince pies throughout the day. Terms and conditions apply.
Paul Dhaliwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Iceland Foods, said: “The people of Liverpool have spoken, and we thought they deserved some festive cheer in the form of free mince pies from the world’s first mince pie vending machine!
“At Iceland, we truly believe it is the most wonderful time of the year and we’re delighted to bring some Christmas magic to the city this December.”
