Wookie Launches Hot Plate At 24 Kitchen Street

HOT PLATE BLACK LOGO
Hot Plate is a new night aimed at celebrating some of the most exciting upcoming and established acts in electronic music. Their recent announcement of upcoming shows sent shockwaves through the city. They launch their autumn event series on October 2nd with heavyweights Channel One Sound System, Wookie and Illaman.

It’s been a long time since Channel One have been up to Liverpool. With one of the best known and greatest sound systems in the world, they’re an institution in the UK reggae scene. Inspired by Bob Marley’s belief in uniting people through music, their mission is to break down barriers via their sound. As well as touring Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Turkey and all over Europe, Channel One recently celebrated their 33rd year as a cornerstone of the Notting Hill Carnival, making them one of the must see sound systems for attendees of Europe’s biggest street festival.

Having produced for the likes of Wayne Marshall, Dynamite MC, and Soul II Soul, a figurehead of the UK garage scene and with a ridiculous number of club classics under his belt, Wookie’s is a story of coming back to where it all began – the very roots of UK dance music. After a hiatus of 6 years, he returned in 2010 to reclaim his crown as one of the true heavyweights of UK garage, and with a string of recent hits, he continues to show the young pretenders how it’s done. Not forgetting Illaman is one of the most charismatic and engaging MC’s in the UK right now. The energetic hype man will ensure that everyone’s having a party.

Tickets £5 online or £8 OTD.
