Weekly Noise: Week #43

Weekly Noise is a short and straightforward way of sharing Liverpool’s trending news and topics in the form of a weekly poem. Laura Chonzi will take the top trending hashtags or stories on social media and turn them into a ten-line poetic masterpiece for each week of the month, hence the name.

The new migration rules are even stricter than the last,
Looks like things are evolving pretty fast.
There was a leak at the Sellafield nuclear site,
And the toxins are causing quite the fright.
Boris Johnson has apologised yet again,
We can only hope that the intention was to vain.
Benjamin Zephaniah wrote his final stanza,
His life was nothing short of an extravaganza.
The cold continues to get even colder,
But that news couldn’t get any older.
