Threshold Festival has unveiled the full line-up for its long-awaited 15-year reunion event, Threshold Was Here, bringing together more than 30 artists for one final celebration in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.
Taking place on Saturday 1 August, the one-off event marks the festival’s farewell after over a decade of championing grassroots music, visual arts and creative culture across the city.
The line-up features a mix of established favourites and emerging local talent, including Natalie McCool, Mersey Wylie, Tosin Trio, Helen Maw, Karl McCann, Geoghegan Jackson, The Good Host, Hollows, Def Neon, DJ Rasp, Science of the Lamps, Mixnots and many more.
True to its reputation, Threshold Was Here promises a packed programme spread across the Baltic Triangle, continuing the festival’s tradition of showcasing diverse creative talent in immersive spaces.
Over its ten-year run, Threshold Festival became known for transforming unconventional venues into vibrant cultural hubs, combining live music with visual art, theatre, installations, talks and community activism, helping to shape the Baltic Triangle into one of Liverpool’s creative hotspots.
Threshold Co-Founder Kaya Herstad-Carney said: “We’ve been carefully piecing this final event together and we’re really excited to release this bumper line-up of artists we know and love and some we’re totally new to. With the pandemic dampening what would have been our big finisher in 2021, there’s been a little urge to put it right. This one is for the Threshold family.”
Co-Founder Chris Herstad-Carney added: “We always had tightly packed line-ups in the past and we’d always be proud of the fact. Give as many opportunities as we could and hopefully create new fan bases from eager audiences. So, this is a fitting farewell.”
The event is being co-promoted alongside several organisations that have supported Threshold over the years, including Liverpool Acoustic, Secret Circus, Luma Creations, Soul Inspired and We Want Women.
Alongside the announcement, organisers have launched the #ThresholdWasHere campaign across social media, sharing archive footage, stories and reflections from the festival’s ten-year history. Videos featuring Kaya Herstad-Carney exploring the Baltic Triangle and discussing the festival’s legacy are available via Threshold’s Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channel.
Before the live music begins, District on Jordan Street will host an open discussion for Liverpool’s creative community from 12pm to 1.30pm. Titled “What is the future of grassroots music and arts in Liverpool?”, the informal round-table invites artists, musicians and creatives to help shape the conversation around the city’s independent cultural scene.
