The World Tour Cruise Is Arriving In Liverpool
Liverpool will welcome the MSC Poesia on April 26, 2024, as part of its grand World Cruise itinerary. The visit marks a great moment for the city, as it confirms the global appeal this it has to the cruise industry.
The MSC World Cruise offers an extraordinary journey. It’s a 121-day-long voyage through 31 different countries and 52 unique destinations. The ship departed on January 5, 2024, from Genoa in Italy with approximately 2,300 people on board.
The itinerary includes the circumnavigation of the Mediterranean Sea, the exploration of the African coasts up to the Atlantic Ocean, Brazil, the Caribbean, the United States, and Canada. It will then return to Europe, crossing Greenland and Iceland.
It has already completed much of its journey and now has scheduled stops in the UK, where it will call at the ports of Belfast, Liverpool, and Southampton. After that, the ship will head to France, the Netherlands, and will end its voyage in Germany.
Liverpool’s inclusion is a sign of the city’s appeal and its facilities’ capability to host such big ships.
The MSC Poesia’s arrival is part of Liverpool’s extensive cruise schedule for 2024, which includes over 95 cruise ships, from smaller luxury ships up to the giants of the sea.
The cruise line will offer guided tours to the Regency mansion of Tatton Park, a tour of the beautiful Lake District, and a visit to Speke Hall. In addition, there will be classic city tours, which includes stops at Liverpool Cathedral, Penny Lane, the Chinese Arch, Albert Docks, the Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building, and the Port of Liverpool Building.
In an exclusive insight, we spoke briefly with Leo from cruisewithleo.com, who is currently a passenger on the MSC Poesia. He shared his excitement about the ship’s visit to Liverpool: “It’s been an incredible journey” he said.
“Each destination has its own unique beauty, but I’m particularly looking forward to Liverpool. Although I’ve visited many places in the UK, I’ve never been to this city. So far everyone is happy here on board. Even though it’s quite long cruise, the days have flown by and we’ve almost reached the end. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work while seeing beautiful places all around the world.“
Due to the significant success, MSC has already opened bookings for the world cruises scheduled for 2025 and 2026. Prices start from around £14,649 per person for an inside cabin, with all meals included.
