The Brink Shortlisted As ‘Best Health Project’ In National Lottery Awards 2015
Award winning venue The Brink is championing Liverpool’s vibrant food and drink scene, having been shortlisted in this year’s National Lottery Awards in the Best Health Project category.
The UK’s first dry bar located on Parr Street has made it to the last stage of the process, beating over 600 entries to become one of six finalists in the Health category. Recognised for its efforts in delivering forward thinking health initiatives, The Brink stands as the North West’s only contender in the awards.
Now in its twelfth year, The National Lottery Awards is an annual event that aims to search the UK to source the nation’s favourite Lottery funded projects, which are then shortlisted into seven categories – Arts, Education, Environment, Heritage, Health, Sport and Voluntary/Charity.
General Manager Carl Bell said: “We were already so proud when we found out we were up for the award against some amazing competition. To be shortlisted as a finalist is really exciting and it’s wonderful to receive recognition for all of the hard work that we do.
“At The Brink we aim to provide a vibrant space in the city centre where guests from a range of backgrounds can come together, socialise and enjoy a great range of alcohol-free drinks and delicious menu offerings. Of course, all of our profits are filtered back into the community to support recovery so it makes for a great feel good factor for all of our customers.”
The public vote is open between June 24 and July 29 and can be accessed online and through dedicated phone lines. The winner of each category will be invited to appear on national television and will receive a £2,000 cash prize to be spent on their project. Winners will also receive an award trophy to display at their venue.
Carl added: “It’s already been such a memorable year for us and The Brink is going from strength to strength. As well as becoming a finalist in this year’s National Lottery Awards, we were recently crowned ‘Bar of the Year’ at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards 2015 – therefore we would love to add another trophy to our cabinet. With that in mind we are urging the people of the North West to get behind us and vote, vote, vote!”
Winners will be announced in August with an awards ceremony taking place on September 11 in London.
