The Base Welcomes Winter With Sustainable Festive Menu
Visitors to one of Liverpool’s newest wellness cafes, The Base can get into the Christmas spirit with sustainable specials taking centre stage on its new festive menu.
Located on the ground floor of The Spine in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, The Base provides the perfect setting for lunchtime light bites, grab-and-go food options and an afternoon coffee surrounded by ho ho host of Christmas decor.
New for the season, choose from a selection of sandwiches, including a Festive Turkey Club featuring succulent turkey breast bacon, lettuce, tomato and cranberry sauce as well as a Christmas Dinner panini with turkey, stuffing, sweet braised red cabbage and cheddar. Those with a sweet tooth can also indulge in cakes with festive flavours of chocolate orange and stem ginger.
Visitors in need of a caffeine fix can savour a freshly prepared Gingerbread Latte from local Liverpool coffee connoisseur Neighbourhood, with every hot drink accompanied by a complimentary mini mince pie – ’tis the season of giving! Plus, as part of The Base’s After Hours opening times on Thursdays, enjoy a Gingerbread Espresso Martini for an early weekend treat.
The menu is designed to encourage healthy eating habits while using the freshest local produce and surplus ingredients from Spaces at The Spine to create a zero-waste agenda.
Jim Chatwin, Head Chef at The Base, says: “We’re excited to present a festive menu that gets creative with traditional festive ingredients while reflecting our commitment to sustainability. We believe in creating culinary experiences where every bite is a step towards a greener future, so join us at The Base this winter and enjoy a Christmas celebration that makes a difference.”
The specials accompany an already delicious menu of hearty and healthy meals that follow the WELL Building Standard to make The Base the healthiest venue in the North West.
