The team behind Rude, the UK’s largest strip club, has opened PussyCats, the UK’s first burlesque and striptease bar.
Based on Eberle Street in the city centre, PussyCats is a fun adult entertainment venue that will provide experiential live burlesque and striptease shows, exciting private peep shows, jazz music, and excellent whiskeys and cocktails.
After taking over the building in 2023, the team has worked tirelessly on an extensive refurb, investing over £500,000 into the beautiful, historic townhouse venue formerly known as Passion nightclub, and creating 30 new jobs for creative, skilled provocateurs and mixologists in Liverpool.
Owner Amy Gwynn explained: “The building has undergone several renovations to adapt to changing needs and trends and make PussyCatsexactly what I wanted it to be, but its historical charm and significance remains intact. Now, with its transformation into a fresh, new space for the people of Liverpool and beyond to come and enjoy, the building continues to honour its legacy while embracing a new chapter of innovation and growth.”
PussyCats has been created to bring Liverpool the first experiential striptease show bar, providing a speakeasy escape for guests.
Focussing on interactive burlesque shows, jazz music and fine whiskeys, PussyCats will be renowned for its entire experience that is complete with a hit of divine black cat energy.
The new striptease and burlesque bar is open every Friday and Saturday until 9pm where the entire venue will come alive.
With a fully stocked bar with the highest quality spirits, wines, beers and carefully crafted cocktails, PussyCats has a capacity of 150 guests and encourages table reservations, however, walk-ins are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Amy added: “Guests will be transported back in time to a weird and wonderful world of entertainment and play with fire breathers, private peep shows and our stand out burlesque and seductive striptease shows. They’ll sip on delicious whiskeys on the rocks that are delivered to their table in a special globe trolley, whilst they immerse themselves in our live burlesque shows and take in the surroundings of PussyCats, as well as the talent of our creative provocateurs.”
PussyCats opened its doors on Saturday 1 June and bookings are available now.
