Don’t Miss The Songwriting Challenge Showcase Final on 14 January
Ten talented songwriters have won a coverted spot at the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge 2022 Showcase Final taking place at LEAF on Bold Street on Saturday 14 January 2023.
The finalists will perform their songs with the works of art that inspired them projected onto the screen for all to see. After each song the audience will have the chance to ask the songwriter questions about the songwriting process, the song, and the inspiration behind it.
The night will also feature music and videoscapes from Operation Lightfoot celebrating ten years of supporting the event, plus a special appearance by Songwriting Challenge judge Kaya Herstad-Carney ahead of her own show at the Music Room in February.
The finalists are (in alphabetical order):
James & Katie MacGregor – Love Locks
Jessica Dives – Letting You Go
Kevin Eustace – The Last Picture
Krzysztof Adam Gosudarski (Christopher) – In Sands of Time
Luke Heathcote – (Here At The) Edge of the World
Mark Dennis – Downtown City Life

Nadeen Kemp – Little Creature
Nicola Hardman – Best

At the end of the Showcase Final the Judges’ Award Winner will be announced, and the audience will get the chance to vote for their favourite song.
The winning songwriters in each category will have their song prefessionally recorded by Jon Lawton at Crosstown Studios. They will also take home a songwriting or singing lesson from Kaya Herstad-Carney, and a cello lesson or cello arrangement for their winning song courtesy of Luke Moore.
Doors at LEAF on Saturday 14 January open at 7.00pm and the show starts promptly at 7.30pm and finishes at 10.30pm.
Tickets are £8 (including booking fee) from Skiddle.
