Say It With Co-Founder Charlotte Donaghue on Jewellery That’s More Than Just an Accessory

Charlotte Donaghue is the co-founder of Say It With, the Liverpool-born jewellery brand known for its meaningful designs and trend-driven collections. From collaborating with well-known celebrities to launching pieces that resonate deeply with customers—like the ever-popular angel numbers—Charlotte has built a brand that blends style with sentiment.

In this interview, she shares the inspiration behind Say It With’s latest collections, the growing demand for lab-grown diamonds, and the jewellery trends set to define 2025.

Liverpool Noise: We are absolutely loving your collection campaigns! How do you decide on the celebrities you use for each new collection?

Charlotte: We choose celebrities who are trending and resonate with both our brand and our customers. It’s important that they align with our jewellery and the image we want to portray. Arabella Chi, for example, was really well received when we collaborated with her before, so we invited her back. Now that she’s on her journey to becoming a mum, it feels like a natural continuation—our audience followed her story from Love Island, and we love being part of that journey. Some collaborations work better than others, but we always aim to work with people who truly connect with our customers.

Say It With's Arabella Chi Mother's Day Campaign

Liverpool Noise: Having recently launched your Mother’s Day collection, can you explain why you picked these specific pieces, particularly the angel numbers?

Charlotte: Following the success of our 1111 necklace—which could end up being our best seller—we realised that our customers really love jewellery with meaning. That’s why we created the angel number range, so people could gift these pieces to themselves or loved ones. Each number carries a special significance, whether it’s intuition, empathy, or protection, and the little meaning cards add a thoughtful touch. People are loving them right now!

Liverpool Noise: There’s been a lot in the press about lab-grown diamonds. You’re a fan, as you offer a gorgeous range in Say It With, but what made you decide to include them alongside traditional mined diamonds?

Charlotte: Honestly, if I could go back and get my engagement ring in a lab-grown diamond, I would! They’re so much more affordable and cost-effective, especially when people are feeling the pinch financially. Why spend thousands when you can get the same look and quality for less? Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, despite what some people might think. The only difference is they’re made in a lab, which makes them a more ethical choice.

We love being able to offer our customers their dream ring without them having to compromise on size due to price. We do still offer mined diamonds for those who prefer them, but our brand is all about being accessible and having something for every budget. Plus, I love that lab-grown diamonds make it easier for people to buy diamonds for themselves—whether it’s for a special birthday, a milestone, or just because. They’re here to stay!

Say It With - Arabella Chi Angel Number Necklace

Liverpool Noise: What are the biggest jewellery trends of the year?

Charlotte: We always stay true to our brand identity and what our customers love, but we also experiment and keep up with trends. Our staple collections—like our initial necklaces and Kiss collection—remain bestsellers, and our angel numbers are quickly becoming a close favourite.

For 2025, pearls are huge, as well as colourful gemstones, which we’ll be incorporating into our spring and summer campaigns. People want fun, statement pieces they can wear to festivals and events, so we’ll be introducing more chunky earrings and rings. Some of these trend-led designs will be seasonal exclusives, while others might become part of our core collection. But no matter what, we always make sure our customers can recognise Say It With jewellery wherever they go.
