Youth Music Awards 2026 Hosts Launch Event At The British Music Experience Ahead of Liverpool Ceremony Next Month
Yesterday, Wednesday 23rd September, the Youth Music Awards 2026 took over the British Music Experience for a special launch event ahead of the ceremony taking place in Liverpool next month.
The Youth Music Awards 2026 will take place at St. George’s Hall on Wednesday 28th October. To mark the occasion, the launch event celebrated the awards moving to Liverpool for the first time after six years in London and welcomed Youth Music funded partners, nominees and community figures.
A panel talk ‘Who gets to be from somewhere?’ explored the importance of place, authenticity and the music industry’s relationship with regional scenes. The host, BBC Radio Merseyside presenter and Liverpool music board member Jade Burns, was joined by Namywa Hutchinson, CEO & Founder of Girl Grind UK, Harry Swift, participant at Merseyside Youth Association and Content Manager at Ditto Music, Kevin McManus, Head of UNESCO City of Music Liverpool City Council and the rapper, songwriter, producer and 2021 Youth Music Awards Rising Star (Artist) winner Superlative.
The crowd was then treated to brilliant performances from Youth Music Awards 2026 nominees including ONYINYEě, TRXTH & RHIA, Bethane, Astles and Dayzy – getting guests excited for the award ceremony next month.
