Liverpool singer-songwriter Amelia is set to release her new single Marilyn alongside her second EP, Ink Stains, on 16 October 2026.
The four-track EP brings together songs written at different points in Amelia’s life, exploring relationships, friendship, vulnerability and self-discovery. It features the previously released Mess That You Made, Chance Encounter and See Through, with Marilyn completing the collection.
A high-energy pop track, Marilyn takes its name from Marilyn Monroe and looks at how women in entertainment can be celebrated one moment and cast aside the next.
“Marilyn Monroe is a face and name for all the women that the industry and Hollywood chews up and spits out,” Amelia says. “It’s how men, media, and fans treat them once they’re tired of the same women they built up.”
Amelia made her debut in 2022 with All In and has since built a catalogue of pop songs led by storytelling and memorable melodies. With Ink Stains, she brings those personal stories together in a release that captures several sides of her life and songwriting.
Amelia and her backing band will celebrate the EP with a launch show at The Cavern on Wednesday 21 October, in partnership with BBC Introducing.
