Lu Ban Unwraps Exquisite Chinese Christmas Menu

Feast your festive eyes on this sumptuous Christmas menu from Lu Ban Liverpool – with not a turkey leg or mince pie in sight.

Whether it’s a cosy get together, family night out or the return of the work’s Christmas party, Lu Ban’s expert team is serving up some seasonal delights to make it a memorable night for all.

And for those who have the task of organising this year’s work Christmas do – Lu Ban can help take out the stress with a dedicated service – that can look at all the options from a table in the restaurant to using one its four private dining rooms: the Chef’s Table, Tianjin Dining Room, Food Lab or Wine Room, to exclusive hire of the whole restaurant. Lu Ban’s award-winning restaurant team has created a selection of regional Chinese dishes inspired by the authentic flavours of Tianjin, which will be available from Thursday 25 November.

Christmas Menu

The Christmas menu includes a trio of starters, the option to add roast duck and pancakes, four main courses and four sweets. The difficult decisions will be what to have!

Do you start with the deep fried stretched prawn which has Lu Ban salt and pepper seasoning, chilli and roasted peanuts, the traditional hot and sour vegetable Yin and Yang Soup or Tianjin Pear and cured ham.

Mains include a Honey and Soy goosnargh chicken breast served with baby pak choi and wild winter leaves; honey roasted Char Sui pork fillet and cheek with pork crunch and ginger salad; pan fried Scottish salmon with Chinese greens or the vegetarian option of Kung Po Cauliflower – deep fried cauliflower.

The dessert options are all tempting. The White Chocolate sphere comes with whisky caramel and Christmas pudding ice cream. The Mandarin is a dark chocolate delight with mandarin, sugar leaf and mandarin sorbet. Try a traditional Chinese steamed pudding of lychee, pineapple served with honey ice cream or the unusual but delicious Chinese Tonka Bean Custard.

Dining Choices

There is a choice of two Christmas dining options while Lu Ban’s festive bottomless brunch will also be available on the weekends.

The Christmas Early Diner option, offers tables on Thursdays and Fridays from 3pm to 4pm and is priced at £45 per guest.

Christmas Dinner with tables available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm with final seating at 9.15pm, priced at £60 per guest.

Lu Ban’s Festive Bottomless Brunch which will be available every Saturday and Sunday from November 27th to Sunday December 19th and also on December 27th and 28th. Some dates will include entertainment from hugely popular drag artists – check the website for information. Diners can enjoy a selection of food for 90 minutes and selected drinks for £39.50.

Post-Christmas there will be one last chance to enjoy the Christmas dinner menu, before Lu Ban serves its special New Year’s Eve set menu available from 3pm- 9pm.

Private Dining

Lu Ban has four private dining rooms are available for group reservations seeking a more exclusive, unique and luxury dining experience.

The Food Lab

The Food Lab is the party room. With the feel of a luxury science lab, the long white marble table and low back stools together with a creative kitchen and Chef Dave Critchley’s assistant, Lu-Bone, the Food Lab has the ambience and style for a fun filled experience. Available to parties with 8-12 guests.

The Wine Room

Sit back and relax in the luxurious comfort of the Wine Room. Set to the side of the restaurant, with an almost floor to ceiling window you can choose to look out over the main dining area or draw the curtains and close the door for an intimate dining experience. Look to the end of the room for a view into the restaurant’s wine cellar. Available for parties of 8-14 guests.

Tianjin Dining Room

Leaving the main restaurant area through an almost secret door and along a short corridor, you will find complete privacy in Lu Ban’s Tianjin Dining Room. With an imposing round table and Lazy Susan turntable for dish sharing, this is how Chinese fine dining is done in Tianjin. Available for parties of 8-12 guests.

Chef’s Table

For an engaging private dining experience, the Chef’s Table is a must. A rare invitation to witness the chefs at work from your private, luxury area of the kitchen. Observe their skill and listen to their food stories as they serve your dishes. Enjoy the views, aromas and atmosphere of the heart of Lu Ban Restaurant. Available for parties of 4-6 guests.
