Lu Ban Restaurant Opening In Cains Brewery Next Month
Lu Ban restaurant which is due to open in the former Cains Brewery site in November, is set to introduce regional Chinese dining to the UK.
Lu Ban, which has its roots firmly planted in the Chinese city of Tianjin, will be launching a fresh, seasonally driven menu which is packed full of authentic dining options, including small plates, tasting menus and Tianjin inspired banquets.
The team behind the innovative concept, including Executive Head Chef, Dave Critchley, have spent months in the bustling Chinese city of Tianjin, researching, learning, and soaking up the culture and traditions.
Lu Ban Director, Mike Mounfield commented, ‘Liverpool was chosen as the first ever Lu Ban location because, like Tianjin, it has an immense sense of community, is founded on great traditions and also has a really vibrant, burgeoning food scene.’
And the comparisons don’t stop there. The third largest city in China, Tianjin is situated on the banks of the Hai River and similar to Liverpool, grew to become a major port. It’s now an important cultural centre and is known for producing some of the country’s most famous performers, artists and comedians.
As a major food hub, the City is also famous for its distinctive cuisine and use of seasonal ingredients. Their world-famous Baozi, a traditional bun like dumpling stuffed with delicious fillings, will be taking pride of place on the new Lu Ban menu along with a host of other regional specialities.
Following a multi-million-pound investment in the Baltic Triangle site, the new restaurant will offer a contemporary approach to Chinese cuisine, and guests can choose from an array of unique dining experiences. The beautifully designed space will contain an elegant private dining room, a creative food lab, impressive wine room with an extensive wine cellar, and contemporary main dining room, as well as a relaxed bar area.
‘The different dining spaces will allow our guests to immerse themselves in a unique dining experience each time they visit. We want to give them a true experience of Tianjin; celebrating its culture, tastes and traditions, right here in the heart of Liverpool’ commented Mike.
Lu Ban restaurant will open on 1st November. To find out more or to make a booking please visit www.lubanrestaurant.co.uk or call 0151 315 8888.
