Liverpool Print Fair 2016
Taking place on Saturday 12th November at The Bluecoat Art Gallery the inaugural Liverpool Print Fair bills itself as a marketplace for affordable art produced by traditional printing methods including woodcut, linocut, etching and screen printing.
A joint venture between The Bluecoat Print Studio and The Print Social seventeen artists from the North West, Nottingham, Leeds and as far afield as Glasgow will have stalls at the event. In addition the Bluecoat will also be selling works related the their own exhibitions.
The Print Social grew out of Scott Duffey and Abigail “Abe” Sinclair’s desire to create an opportunity for people interested in creating artwork which does not entail “sending it off to the digital printers” as Abe explains. “It’s for people who take the time to put the ink on the paper themselves, mix the colours and have fun that way.”
Now on their twelfth event Scott and Abe met at other events for creatives before deciding to start their own regular night specifically for people interesting in producing prints. From the social came the desire for an event at which to sell works.
Workshops for all ages will also be taking place throughout the day so this could be a good opportunity to indulge your own creativity, support independent artists and perhaps buy a unique gifts for Christmas.
The day will run from 10.30 and until 5pm.
The Print Social meet monthly at The Shipping Forecast. For more information check their Facebook page here or their official website here.
