Liverpool Food Tours Partners With Lucky Penny Group
Award-winning Liverpool Food Tours has expanded its guest experience by partnering with the city’s only authentic Iberian wine bar, BoBo on Castle Street.
BoBo is owned and operated by leading Liverpool hospitality group Lucky Penny, champions of excellent service and authentic experiences in their ‘neighbourhood’ bars.
In March, Liverpool Food Tours was honoured with the Best New Tourism Business award at the Liverpool City Tourism Awards and was also a finalist in two other award categories – Independent Tourism Business of the Year and Experience of the Year.
It follows similar success for its sister business Tours Around Chester which won the New Tourism Business award at the Marketing Cheshire Annual Tourism Awards in 2019.
BoBo opened in September 2020 celebrating ‘sunshine’ cafe culture, focused on offering old style service and being a heart and soul venue in the city centre and in the process winning a reputation as one of the best small bars in Liverpool with a regular events programme.
BoBo offers a range of food and drink inspired by Spain and Portugal, including a small dine-in menu and a retail counter to pick up fresh genuine Pastel de Nata, homemade Sangria and wine.
It also hosts regular events including a monthly wine club and a Paella Terrace every Friday afternoon.
Gareth Boyd said: “It’s a perfect match for our Tour. Like us, BoBo has received rave reviews for what it offers. When people step through the yellow frontage they step into Liverpool’s own small slice of Portugal and Spain from the décor to the music and of course the food and drink. They also sell the best Pastel de Nata outside Portugal.
“Both Liverpool Food Tours and Lucky Penny are passionate about providing first class customer experience and I am delighted to welcome them on board.”
Steven Burgess, of Lucky Penny Group, said: “We are flattered that Gareth wanted us on his roster of top bars and bistros for his growing number of tour participants.
“Liverpool Food Tours has justifiably followed the success of Gareth’s Chester operation by winning prestigious regional awards, a reflection both in the growing interest in people discovering the fine independent venues on their doorsteps and the verve with which Gareth and his colleagues deliver their knowledge.”
