Liverpool International Music Festival Returns Next Month With A Huge Line Up
Adding a fifth notch to its belt, Sefton Park welcomes the return of Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) from Thursday 20th July- Sunday 23rd July. Following on from last year’s hugely successful line-up, Liverpool’s four-day festival is set to impress again.
Introducing an array of free and ticketed events, LIMF acts as a creative melting pot for artists and music lovers from all corners of the globe. Returning to the city’s green oasis – Sefton Park – LIMF Summer Jam presents a strong billing of international artists and homegrown talent in celebration of Liverpool’s rich musical tapestry.
Organisers have strengthened the festival’s reputation once again after announcing the latest line-up which sees chart-topping duo Gorgon City steal the Saturday headliner slot. Joining them are soulful singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey-Rae, acclaimed producer and collaborator Naughty Boy, DJ extraordinaire Trevor Nelson, hitmaker Katy B, rising talent Louis Berry, indie darling Kate Nash, homegrown indie rockers Hooton Tennis Club, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and many more. Between the main stage and DJ sets to a live orchestra and silent discos in the beautiful Palm House, attendees can expect a pick and mix style variety across the whole weekend.
In addition, the fifth anniversary explores a ‘Remember the Times’ theme with five special events to mark significant historical periods for different music genres. These exclusive live sets will take ticket-holders on a musical voyage; with a programme that includes, Good Times with Norman Jay MBE, Garage Classical presented by DJ Spoony, Reminisce: 90s R&B with Trevor Nelson, No Sleep with DJ Stretch Armstrong and Circus Year One.
Staying true to its mantra as a breeding ground for fresh faces, the award-winning LIMF Academy returns to complete an already electric itinerary. Billed as one of Britain’s best artist development schemes aimed at nurturing new talent in Merseyside; the Class of 2017 will see ‘most ready’ artists Gazelle, Mary Miller and Remee perform at this year’s Summer Jam. Yet another nod to LIMF’s status as a premier destination for rising musicians and emerging sounds.
Some good news if you don’t fancy digging out the wellies…this year sees the introduction of luxury VIP tickets granting upgraded access to a VIP area, private bar area, and most importantly, posh toilets! Advanced tickets can be bought at £13.50 per day or £33 for a three-day pass.
