Jimmy’s Liverpool Live Music Venue To Open August 1
October 2023 Update: Unfortunately, Jimmy’s is now permanently closed.
With just over six weeks until its grand opening, Jimmy’s has revealed a sneak peek into its newest venue in Liverpool city centre: Jimmy’s Liverpool.
Founded by brothers George and Jimmy Craig the three-floor venue located in the historic Havelock Building on Bold Street will celebrate the city’s rich musical heritage and provide a much-needed stage for new, up-and-coming artists.
Along with its seven-nights-a-week live music offering Jimmy’s Liverpool will also operate as a drinking and nightlife hotspot serving up a range of house beers, wines and signature cocktails.
George said:
“It’s pretty exciting that we’re preparing for the opening in Liverpool with our biggest site yet and our official opening date of August 1 can’t come quick enough. I remember when we first talked about the future of The Cabin Club and our plans to transform it into Jimmy’s and at times, it felt like we were chasing the tail of a dream so it’s certainly rewarding to have gotten to this stage.”
The brand has already built a reputation as a haven for indie and grassroots live music since in launch in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in 2016.
So, what exactly can you expect to find in Liverpool’s newest music venue and bar?
Supporting and showcasing emerging musical talent
Since launching their flagship Manchester venue George and Jimmy have welcomed more than 250 live music acts to the stage and its Liverpool listings are already shaping up. The basement stage and bar area are set to offer an injection of rock ‘n’ roll into the city with some big-name artists already lined up ahead of the opening.
Good beers with a side of nostalgia
Brewed in partnership with historic craft brewers Joseph Holt, Jimmy’s own Cider, Lager and Pale Ale will be served up alongside musically themed cocktails in the ground floor bar. Transporting customers to an era not so long ago, the Cabin Club’s ‘60s and ‘70s vibe will offer a taste of time travel with its vintage artwork, lava lamps and neon walls.
Music for the masses
Within touching distance of Liverpool’s Chinatown, Georgian Quarter and University areas, Jimmy’s Liverpool promises something for every taste with soundtracks that include disco and soul to hair metal, rhythm and blues to country, while also serving up quality food and an impressive selection of beers.
Cocktails with a view at the heart of the city
Perhaps as good as the drinks on offer, visitors to the bar will also enjoy a stunning view of Liverpool’s iconic Bombed-Out Church. Jimmy’s Liverpool has opened up the famously once-dark venue with the addition of 4.5 metre floor-to-ceiling windows that will put the sun back in the Havelock Building and provide the perfect vista.
There’s more than meets the eye
Jimmy’s Liverpool is set to explode into Liverpool’s music and nightlife scene in August but there’s plenty more to come from the exciting new venue. With a spectacular 100 seated capacity first floor area in addition to its stage setting and ground floor bar, the Craig brothers have ambitious plans to transform the space, offering guests an extra-special dining experience that will really put Jimmy’s in the spotlight.
Jimmy’s Liverpool will open to the public on Thursday, August 1.
