Finca To Host Unique ‘Home’ Dining Event
Cuban Street Food Restaurant Launches the First in its Series of ‘Paladars’.
One of the city’s most unusual dining experiences is set to launch later this month when Cuban street food restaurant FINCA hosts its first ‘FINCA paladar’.
Taking place in a unique location, which will seem more like an eclectic living room than a restaurant – diners will be treated to an exquisite four-course tasting menu of Cuban dishes which are not usually on offer at FINCA’s shack at The Merchant.
The event is a nod to the restaurant’s Cuban roots as paladares – home-run restaurants – are extremely popular in the Caribbean country.
From dining at an owner’s kitchen table to eating within a living room at a dining table paladares offer an unusual experience and FINCA will be recreating this with their first events on Friday 21 October and 22 October.
Guests will not only enjoy a variety of Cuban dishes but a drinks pairing will also be on offer to diners who want to immerse themselves in Havana culture.
Michael Harrison, co-founder and chef at FINCA, says:
“Paladares are huge in Havana – they are the ultimate way of enjoying local Cuban cuisine.
Some of the paladares look like a typical restaurant – however a lot of them are more stripped back with family photos still on the wall and TV sets in the rooms! This is what we want to recreate.
It’s set to be a very unique dining experience on 21 & 22 October and guests will be able to enjoy one-off courses that we are yet to offer at FINCA.”
Tickets for the evenings are priced at £40 – and with only 30 places available they’re expected to sell out fast.
