Emilio Pinchi ‘Holiday’ EP Review

Emilio Pinchi is a name that’s been on our radar for a few years and for good reason. Since the first time we caught him live we always try and track him down on whatever festival stage or intimate gig that he’s on the bill for.

Emilio is one of those singer-songwriters who’s music covers the everyday stuff which we can all relate to and he manages to do it in an often funny and certainly charming way. He’s a great story teller and that’s evident on his new EP ‘Holiday’ with laid back tunes that sound whimsical, yet you come away from the first listen wanting to dive back in and just hear the lyrics again.

The stand out track for us on this four song EP is ‘White Wine Bottle’ which has a brilliant melody and humour that shines through. That being said, each track feels special on this release which is a pivotal moment for a performer who’s been working towards this for quite some time… and we are delighted with the outcome!

With previous releases picked up by BBC 6 Music, Pinchi released his latest EP ‘Holiday’, available digitally and on limited edition metal tin cassette, through Klee Music on 9th November 2018. Influenced by the likes of Elliot Smith and Car Seat Headrest, Pinchi offers an introspective view on life, nostalgia and consumerism in an anonymous city. “Holiday” is a record about navigating the mundane and the ordinary,
and figuring out where you fit between the two.

You can catch Emilio Pinchi at his EP launch night at 81 Rensahw, 13 November with support from White Little Lies & Lydiah. Advance tickets are just £3 from the Klee Music Website or £5 on the door.

‘Holiday’ is available on 4 track download and limited edition metal box 5 track cassette version from the Klee Music Website.
