Design Frank’s Dog: Meet Frank Want Your Dish on the Menu
Liverpool Restaurant Asks the Public to Design Its Next Menu Item.
Dig out your apron, head to the butchers and get cooking; as one Liverpool restaurant launches a novel way of creating its newest menu addition.
Liverpool restaurant Meet Frank – who specialise in gourmet hotdogs – is doing things a little different this month by turning to the public for inspiration for its next hotdog and asking its social media followers to pitch their creations.
Famous for the elaborate toppings on their hotdogs, Meet Frank is offering the winning entrant a hugely unique prize with their self-named hotdog going on Meet Frank’s official menu for one month.
As well as this money-can’t-buy prize, 50p from each sale will also go to a charity of the winner’s choice and they will also receive £100 cash for their hardwork.
To enter the unique competition, entrants must create a hotdog with toppings and share a photo of it on Instagram – tagging in @MeetFrankLiv, and explaining why they chose the ingredients – the more unconventional, the better.
Undiscovered Gordon Ramsays and future Nigella Lawsons have until Tuesday 21 February to enter the competition with the judges announcing the winning hotdog on Thursday 23 February.
Launched in 2013 as a street food stand, Meet Frank – specialising in hotdogs – has now converted to a restaurant and is located in a permanent residence at Stanhope Street’s Ghetto Golf serving up grilled cheeses, pork belly rolls and sharer fries 7-days a week.
Frank Haggis, chef and owner of Meet Frank, says:
“When we decided that we wanted to add another hotdog to our menu, we thought what better way than asking the public to pitch us their creations!
We’re looking for unusual and out-the-box ideas, as long as they taste great, we don’t mind what the topping is. I can’t wait to see the entries and hopefully we’ll discover some people’s hidden culinary talents.”
