Delifonseca Dockside Kicks Off 2025 In Style

After the festive overload of mince pies, selection boxes and one-too-many roast dinners, Delifonseca Dockside is here to remind us why food is still worth getting excited about.

The Brunswick Dock venue has announced a line-up of events to shake off the post-Christmas slump and kickstart the new year with bold flavours, fresh ideas and plenty to look forward to.

Things heat up straight away this Friday 17 January with their Moroccan Spice Night, featuring a menu that is all about bold spices, exotic aromas and healthy dishes that will bring the sunshine back to January.

Then to celebrate Burns Night, Delifonseca is hosting two events on Saturday 25 January. An informative Whisky Tasting Afternoon begins at 3pm, featuring whisky expert Stewart Dick from Torabhaig, an exciting new distillery on the Isle of Skye. Learn about their journey and taste a range of their amber nectars, complemented by a selection of delicious food pairings.

The Burns Inspired Celebration Evening will follow at 7pm, offering a proper Scottish celebration. Alongside traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, guests will enjoy fine Scottish produce – venison, salmon, Cullen skink, Rumbledethumps and more. This will be washed down with a whisky flight from Torabhaig and Mossburn Distilleries, once again hosted by whisky expert Stewart Dick. We’ll be honouring Scotland’s favourite poet and the menu will be available whisky-less if you don’t partake in the strong stuff.

Proprietor Candice Fonseca said: “After Christmas, the last thing anyone wants is another mince pie. January is about proper food – food that makes you sit up and get excited again. Our line-up of events is about celebrating brilliant ingredients, great company and everything that’s good about eating out.”

February keeps the momentum going with a Port Tasting Afternoon on Saturday 8 February, offering a relaxed dive into port, its history and its flavours, paired with perfect dishes. Valentine’s Weekend offers two chances to spoil yourself with the Food Lovers Aphrodisiac Menu, available on Friday 14 February, and Saturday 15 February – every dish contains at least one ingredient known for its aphrodisiac properties.

From the obvious chilli, oysters, truffle and chocolate, to the surprising tellichelli, long peppers, watermelon, papaya, and pistachio – there will be some surprises. Can your libido take it?

On Saturday 22 February, indulge in For the Love of Cheese & Tipple, an evening of perfectly paired cheeses and drinks that’s sure to delight any cheese lover. The month wraps up with a unique Japanese Food and Drink Night on Friday 28 February – fresh sushi, sake, and Japanese-inspired dishes given the signature Delifonseca twist.

March brings a taste of Brazil with Brazilian Spice Night on Friday 7 March, featuring a menu full of flavour-packed dishes inspired by the country’s cuisine. Then, on Saturday 15 March, delight in a Saturday Afternoon Madeira Tasting, exploring its rich and historic wine, paired with mouthwatering snacks.

Then the month finishes with The Brilliance of Bee’s A Honey & Mead Tasting Afternoon, hosted by local beekeepers and producers Eshe Honey. This informative and tasty afternoon includes honey tastings paired with food combinations, plus delicious meads to sample.

“These events are about putting excitement back on the table,” Candice added. “It’s good food, good drink, and a good excuse to get out of the house after Christmas – what’s not to love? Keep an eye out as we’re adding new events all the time.”
