Christmas Events At Sefton Park Palm House
Sefton Park Palm House is preparing to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with its seasonal programme.
As part of its annual festivities, the Grade II* listed glasshouse is offering exciting occasions for visitors of all ages throughout December.
Featured events will see guests dancing under the palms, singing along to Christmas carols and watching festive films at the pop-up cinema, many of which coincide with the year-long Flourish at Fifteen celebrations.
Kate Martinez of Sefton Park Palm House said: “Christmas is one of our favourite times of the year at the Palm House and this year our ‘menu’ is more varied than ever. While we know that the run up to Christmas Day can be hectic for many, the Palm House provides both a great space for some much needed quiet time as well as many events to get you into the swing of the Yuletide celebrations.
“We will kick off with a full weekend of Artisans in the Palm House (November 25 – November 27), where independently sourced gifts including those gift-wrapped and personalised will be on display. Week on week, our festive SundayConcerts will also welcome a range of musicians including Maghull Wind Orchestra (December 4), Duke of Lancaster Band (December 11) and Liverpool Harmony Group (December 18).”
On selected dates, Sefton Park Palm House will be transformed into a snowy cinema and will showcase festive favourite films including The Grinch, Love Actually, Elf and the classic It’s a Wonderful Life.
Vocalists can enjoy a Christmas Sing-A-Long Afternoon (December 13), while a duo of Carol Concerts (December 14 and 15) will welcome the arrival of big names including Liverpool Community Choir, Royal Liverpool Hospital Choir and Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre Choir.
Kate added: “Musical Memories will see us dancing into Christmas, with highlights including a Christmas Afternoon with The Savoy Jazzmen (December 6), when revellers will decorate their umbrellas with tinsel and baubles and join the Mardis Gras parade. Anyone hoping to brush up their dancing skills ahead of a season of Christmas parties can do so at our annual Christmas Salsa Party Under the Palms (December 10).
“We’re really looking forward to celebrating this festive season as part of the Palm House’s ‘Flourishing at Fifteen’ year with new and familiar faces alike.”
