Botanico Gets Ready To Celebrate Its First Christmas

Botanico, the exciting new eatery in the heart of Woolton Village, is looking forward to its first Christmas after an amazing first few weeks.

Thousands of customers have visited the Italian restaurant since it opened last month, averaging at 500 guests per day, with something for everyone, from a delicious Breakfast and Brunch menu, to all-day wood fired pizzas and an evening Bistro offering.

Now it’s adding a beautiful festive menu to make it even more magical – making it the perfect place for families, groups of friends, and couples, to celebrate such a special season.

Donato Cillo, who with son Antonio created Botanico as well as Liverpool’s popular Italian Quarter in the city centre, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response to Botanico, and the welcome we have received from so many people. And the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

“Guests have got to know us for our classic brunch dishes and our delicate and delicious Afternoon Tea, as well as our evening bistro menu, and so now we can’t wait to share Christmas with our new friends, and invite them to celebrate the festive season with us.”

The decorations are up and Botanico, which is both family and dog friendly, is looking more beautiful than ever to provide a gorgeous backdrop to any festivities.

And the Botanico Christmas Menu is just as dazzling.

Starters include a delicious Roasted Tomato Soup served with homemade sourdough bread, Chicken Wings with a sweet chilli & honey glaze, and a Selection of Focaccia with a choice of Mozzarella & Garlic butter, Garlic butter, or Tomato and Garlic butter.

There are pasta dishes among the main courses, including Penne Arrabbiata, penne pasta in a spicy sauce with chilli and garlic, and a classic Beef Lasagna; as well as mouthwatering meat and fish dishes from Pork Belly, served with a potato terrine, celeriac puree, apple sauce and a red wine jus, and Grilled Seabass Fillet, accompanied by roasted potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a tarragon sauce.

As always at Botanico, thanks to their talented pastry team that bake all desserts and pastries fresh each day, there will be a Cake of the Day for dessert, alongside favourites like homemade authentic Panettone served with zabione cream or a Homemade Sticky Toffee Pudding with vanilla gelato.

Served daily from 5pm for parties of eight or more, the Botanico Christmas Menu costs £29.95 per person for three courses and is available from Monday, November 27, until December 30 (excluding Christmas Day).

Donato, 48, and Antonio Cillo have each worked in the hospitality industry since they were 13 years old. And both father and his 24-year-old son, originally from Potenza in Italy, are passionate about showcasing authentic Italian food throughout Merseyside and beyond.

Their Italian Quarter in the city centre is well-known for venues like Brunchin, Hey Farina, P&D Gran Caffe and Antonietta Cakes and Gelato, creating a bustling hub for Italian delicacies and dishes since 2010.

And it’s the talented team at Antonietta Bakery led by Donato’s wife and Antonio’s mother, Antonietta, who make Botanico’s croissants, cannolis, pastries, macarons, cakes and breads baked with sourdough fresh every day, to enjoy in the restaurant or to take away.

Creating 25 jobs already, Botanico has a capacity of 90 in the main restaurant, and an additional 30 in the dedicated tea room.
