Bongo’s Bingo Announce Special Liverpool Show With CALM For Blue Monday

Bongo’s Bingo Blue Monday will raise awareness of mental health by joining forces with CALM Charity.

Bongo’s Bingo are putting on four special events across the nation to help raise awareness for mental health on what is commonly dubbed as being the most miserable day of the year – Monday 20th January – referred to as Blue Monday, all in support of The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Mental health isn’t just ever about one single day; it can be a much broader and more nuanced situation for people the length and breadth of the UK. Bongo’s Bingo are using Blue Monday to help highlight how anyone’s mental health and emotional well-being can be affected at any time – not just on one specific day – and the importance to look out for other people, too, including friends, family, work colleagues and loved ones, as well as looking within.

So for this special collaboration with CALM, Bongo’s Bingo are saying bollocks to Blue Monday with a special show at Content in Liverpool on Monday 20th January.

The four shows in Liverpool, London, Manchester and Glasgow will create crucial awareness through the hosts, dancers and production in each venue. The origins of Blue Monday stem from the traditionally bad January weather, dark nights and the post Xmas-lull. Whilst all of these can be common to experience in January for many of the population trying to get through the first month of the year, it is much more important to recognise they can also be a trigger for actual depression in some people, and to be able to recognise the symptoms, too.

Bongo’s Bingo is always about having the best fun possible, but it also cherishes the mental well-being of its staff and most importantly its audience, too. So with this firmly in mind, Bongo’s Bingo is very proud to be supporting CALM throughout 2020, helping to challenge and break the stigma around mental health whilst raising much-needed funds for the charity. Profits from all four events on Monday January 20th will be donated straight to CALM.

CALM are the incredible charity that offer help and support to those struggling with suicidal thoughts and depression, which can affect anyone. CALM operates a helpline 7 hours a day, 7 days a week between 5 pm and midnight which both men and women can use in a time of crisis on: 0800 58 58 58. The charity has worked on campaigns alongside some huge brands in the past such as the Best Man Campaign featuring Rio Ferdinand and Prince William and the touching Project 84 campaign.

Tickets for Bongo’s Bingo Blue Monday shows are available exclusively from www.bongosbingo.co.uk and go on sale on Monday 11th November at 5pm.
