Band Feature; Raw City – Gritty, Underground, No Thrills Punk
A not so typical Merseyside band full of lads, not afraid to say how it is, taking us back to a time when punk was popular and the youth were in revolt.
The four piece band made up of Philly Moore (vocals), Craig Ebbrell (bass), Jack Turner (guitar) and Dave Keenan (drums) are not new to the Liverpool music scene. Gigging since 2011, the band has grown a strong cult of dedicated followers. It’s not difficult to understand why, with a tongue in cheek attitude, Raw City provide us with gritty, underground, no thrills punk.
Describing their sound as real music from real mates, the boys stand by the DIY method of running, strictly no commitments. Their first self-titled album was produced by lostatsearecords, available on the website for whatever price you want to pay, adding to their ‘if it’s good enough for us, it’s good enough for you’ ethos.

Having recently played a string of gigs such as Jar Live music presents UPSurge at the o2 and supporting at Buffalo Riot’s latest EP launch, the chance for this band to take lead is drawing near. With a few years of gigging and generally not giving a toss under their belt, it’s no doubt their ballsy lyrics and Rock ‘n’ Roll attitude are what’s being missing from the industry for eras.
