Abajo – Liverpool’s Spanish Cava and Gin Bar – Launches Weekly Music Event
Liverpool’s only specialist Spanish cava and gin bar, Abajo, has launched Sonar Sessions – a new weekly music event.
Sonar Sessions, which promises to deliver an eclectic mix of music from modern day soul through to Latin house, features some of Liverpool’s most trusted DJ’s on rotation including Chris Carney of Threshold Festival and Richie Vegas of Africa Oye.
The event, which is free to enter and held every Saturday from 8pm, was introduced last week.
Bar bosses say Sonar Sessions, which is now a permanent fixture at Abajo, will take place every Saturday, allowing gin and cava enthusiasts to enjoy their weekends in style.
Abajo director, Edward Ridding, believes Sonar Sessions will be a huge hit with visitors.
He said: “Our launch night was a huge success, we received great feedback from those that attended. In Abajo we’ve tried to bring something different to the city – it’s the perfect place to start your evening and enjoy a bottle of cava between friends. We hope to see visitors from far and wide experience our little slice of Barcelona.”
Abajo is situated below the increasingly popular Roja Pinchos on Berry Street in Liverpool city centre.
