The Brink Set To Host Charity Gig In Aid of Cancer Research UK
The Brink is set to play host to a musical charity evening in aid of Cancer Research UK this weekend.
Located on Parr Street, the popular dry bar will welcome the ‘Music Against Cancer’ event on Saturday, April 30.
Set up by event organiser Andrew Fagan in a bid to give something back, the evening will feature live musical performances from the singer-songwriter together with special guest Ben Higgs. The coinciding charity single ‘Picking up the Pieces’ will also be unveiled on the night.
Events Manager at The Brink David Barnicle said: “We are looking forward to welcoming both Andrew and Ben to the stage for an evening of great raw talent. ‘Music Against Cancer’ was built on Andrew’s passion to give something back to the charity that is so close to home, meaning that the night will also offer a real feel good factor for our guests.
“In order to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK, all proceeds from both the event and the new single will go directly to the charity. As an illness that affects the lives of many, it felt only right to support such a meaningful cause.”
The Brink, which is the UK’s first and Liverpool’s only dry bar, plays host to regular events including their very own Film Club, guitar lessons and community art workshops to name a few. The venue also often welcomes inspirational speakers in a bid to inspire and uplift guests, whether they are members of the recovery community or the public alike.
David added: “I am a firm believer that the power of music and expression can work miracles to lift the spirits. For this reason, The Brink regularly plays host to weekly open mic and poetry nights, alongside regular live music events such as the Young Musicians Showcase.
“We certainly hope that the upcoming evening will motivate and excite our guests, all the while going on to support a charity that continues to pioneer ingenious research to help put a full stop to cancer.”
The ‘Music Against Cancer’ charity event will take place between 8pm-11pm on Saturday, April 30. Tickets cost £2 and are available here or on the door on the evening. All proceeds from the evening will go to Cancer Research UK.
