Liverpool Christmas Wonderland Bringing Huge Covered Ice Rink and 36 Attractions to Pier Head
Liverpool’s waterfront is getting a major festive makeover this winter, with a huge Christmas Wonderland bringing ice skating, rides, food and drink to the Pier Head.
Liverpool Christmas Wonderland will open on Friday 20 November 2026, transforming the waterfront into a festive destination featuring a covered ice rink, 36 attractions and 28 food and drink units.
Running until Sunday 3 January 2027, the event will take place against the backdrop of Liverpool’s Three Graces, with entry to the Wonderland itself completely free.
One of the main attractions will be a large covered ice rink, allowing visitors to get their skates on whatever the Liverpool winter weather decides to do.
Off-peak skating tickets will start from £12.50 for children and £15.50 for adults, while family tickets will be available from £49. Skate hire is included in the ticket price.
Visitors won’t need an ice skating ticket to enter Liverpool Christmas Wonderland, however, with people able to explore the site, grab some food and drink or pay separately for rides, games and other attractions.
Perhaps the biggest addition to the Pier Head will be an enormous 85-metre Star Flyer – the tallest extreme Star Flyer in the UK.
The ride, which has never previously appeared in Liverpool, will take riders high above the waterfront for panoramic views across the city and the River Mersey – provided they’re brave enough to look down.
It will be joined by rides including The Yeti, Avalanche and Ice Twister, alongside an ice maze and eight children’s rides.
There will also be a brand-new Santa’s Grotto and Santa Sleigh Ride, with organisers promising that further attractions will be announced before the Wonderland opens in November.
There’ll be plenty to eat and drink too, with 28 food and drink units planned across the site.
Food on offer will include stone-baked pizzas, burgers and loaded Yorkshire puddings, alongside sweeter festive treats including roasted marshmallows, warm crumble and custard, churros, crêpes and mini Dutch pancakes.
Hot chocolates and mulled wine will also be available, while The Winter Club will provide a cosy place to meet for drinks and take in the festive atmosphere on the waterfront.

When Does Liverpool Christmas Wonderland Open?
Liverpool Christmas Wonderland will run at the Pier Head from Friday 20 November 2026 until Sunday 3 January 2027.
It will be open daily from 11am–9pm, closing on Christmas Day only.
Entry to the Wonderland is free, with ice skating, rides, games and selected attractions ticketed separately.
Tickets for ice skating are on sale now via the Liverpool Christmas Wonderland website, with more rides, attractions and festive experiences set to be announced in the coming weeks.
