Alcohol-Free Dance Party Movers n Soul Shakers Comes to Sefton Park Palm House

Movers n Soul Shakers will bring DJs, live vocals, movement and sound to Sefton Park Palm House this November for a different kind of night out in Liverpool.

Sefton Park Palm House will become a dancefloor on Wednesday 4 November as Movers n Soul Shakers returns with Remember Your Spark – an alcohol-free party built around music, movement and connection.

Taking place from 6pm–9pm, the event brings together DJ sets, live singers, somatic shaking and a hypnotic sound bath beneath the Palm House’s iconic glass roof.

The idea is simple: all the energy and atmosphere of a great night out, with plenty of room to dance, let loose and enjoy the music, but without alcohol being part of the plan.

Rather than moving abruptly from a high-energy dancefloor to a relaxing sound bath, Remember Your Spark has been designed as a journey through four stages: The Ember, The Spark, The Fire and The Glow.

The energy will gradually build throughout the evening before slowing down towards the end, giving guests the chance to experience everything from dancing and live music to movement and immersive sound.

Liverpool DJs Andy Carroll and Robbie Edwards will provide the soundtrack, joined by live vocalists Nell Shakespeare, Chantelle Cole and Jamie Deary.

Jake Jervo will lead somatic shaking and contribute to the sound bath, while Oranga will bring his handmade synthesisers, which use plants to create sound. Geniene Azalea will then guide the hypnotic sound bath experience. It’s an unusual line-up for a dance party – and that’s very much the point.

Movers n Soul Shakers sits somewhere between a gig, a party and a shared wellbeing experience. Guests can throw themselves into the dancefloor or simply find their own pace as the evening unfolds.

Despite being an alcohol-free event, Remember Your Spark isn’t exclusively aimed at people who are sober.

There’s no expectation to have given up alcohol or to identify as sober. Whether you’re sober-curious, taking a break from drinking or simply fancy somewhere different to dance on a Wednesday night, everyone is welcome.

The event is organised by Science of Sound CIC, a Liverpool community organisation using sound and other creative practices to bring people together.

National Lottery funding has helped make the Palm House event more accessible, with free and donation-based tickets available.

For anyone who loves a proper dance but is looking for something beyond the usual bar or club, Remember Your Spark offers three hours to move, experience live music and see one of Liverpool’s best-known venues in a completely different light.
