The Memos Return With Anthemic Single ‘Do You Believe?’
After the release of their debut single Save Tonight back in March, Indie-Rock newcomers The Memos have returned with their latest single Do You Believe?. The Liverpool-based band was formed by former solo musician Aaron Spencer alongside bassist and backing vocalist, Gary Robertson, drummer Jake Freeman, and lead guitarist Zak Langford-Do.
Do You Believe? uses the universal and ever-relevant love song as a vessel to explore themes of faith and fate, with a driving chorus which calls to a higher power: “Do you believe/ it’s destiny/ I’m up all night/ racing mind/ trying to find an explanation”.
Despite the reflective and thought-provoking nature of the lyrics, the song retains an upbeat feel that makes you want to jump up and sing along. With the anthemic chorus, powerful vocals and a killer guitar solo, the track is reminiscent of ‘90s and early ‘00s indie rock classics, and is no doubt set to be a classic in its own right.
The Memos have been building momentum with a sold out headline gig at The Kazimier Stockroom and supporting Mexican Dogs at the 700 capacity venue Hangar34. The Memos further cemented their rising star status by playing on the mainstage at The Boof Festival alongside The Lottery Winners, Red Rum Club, The View, and Shambolics.
